What’s there – wildlife:

The reserve forms part of the cliffs behind the Ship Inn at Saltburn and extends from the mean high water to the cliff top.  The main area of interest is the cliffs where in early summer nationally important number of Kittiwakes breed, alongside other seabirds including Fulmars and Cormorants.  At the top of the cliff House Martins nest in an area of exposed clay; there is also the possibility of seeing Peregrine Falcon at any time of the year as they patrol the cliffs looking for their next meal.  But it is not all birds at Hunt Cliff, summer sees a splash of colour as many wildflowers begin to show on the cliff’s grasslands, these include the regionally rare Dyer’s Greenweed, as well as 3 species of orchid, and other coastal species such as  Spiny Restharrow, Sea Plantain and Wild Carrot.
