Margrove Ponds

The ponds have formed in pits excavated by the former brickworks that operated near the site. The open water habitat is surrounded by fenland areas supporting Phragmites and Typha reedbeds. The small pond next to the lake provides a home for frogs, toads and newts.
Directions
From the A174 take the turning to Margrove Park and Boosbeck - the turning is opposite the village of Charltons. There is a car park at Margrove Heritage Centre on your right. Walk from here, follow the road through the village of Margrove Park, 100m on the other side of the village turn down a track on your left (in a dip on the road), after 300m you will reach the reserve.
