Cleveland Coast Wildflowers

The Cleveland Coast between South Gare and Cowbar forms and important landscape feature with its range of habitats from sand dunes to spectacular high cliffs. Its wildlife and geological significance is recognised by the designation of the entire coast as either Local Wildlife Sites or Sites of Special Scientific Interest.

Wildflowers

This summer, with funding from National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, we want people to explore the coast through their phones, pocket cameras or complex SLRs to record the beauty and diversity of the wildflowers of the coast and to take part in workshops, competitions, walks and events to find out more about coastal flower, habitats and ecosystems.

As part of its Cleveland Coast Wildflowers Project, supported through funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust is running a photographic competition to capture the beauty and imagery of our magnificent coastal floras. Entry into the competition is free and we welcome photos from amateurs and professionals.

Closing date of the competition is midnight September 30th 2015.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and exhibition on Sunday 25th October 2015 at the Palace Hub Gallery in Redcar.
