Wilder East Cleveland Officer

Are you able to capture the passion, imagination and resources of the people within a community to make positive changes for wildlife? If so, this could be the job for you...

Wild at the Edges is a project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund which will increase support and engagement with people from villages, farms, landowners, businesses to benefit nature’s recovery in East Cleveland. It will work to improve connectivity through rural landscapes by focussing on the wildlife of field edges, road verges, hedges and streams. It will build knowledge about these edge habitats and how to manage or improve them, enabling positive action for wildlife by the whole community.

The project will reach audiences new to wildlife conservation and natural heritage. Through a mix of fun and science, it will encourage local people to contribute to research and habitat improvements for wildlife. Some events and activities will take place in the evenings and at weekends to enable more families and people of working age to take part.
