All Our Futures
What is All Our Futures?
All Our Futures is a partnership between Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, The Junction Foundation, and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, and is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. Our mission is to increase local awareness of environmental issues and empower communities to make a difference, reigniting their connection to urban, coastal, and rural environments and wildlife.
The project brings together the skills of Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, The Junction Foundation, and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council to connect with those least likely to access and engage with natural environments and climate change issues within their local communities and natural spaces. The project empowers communities to take direct action to mitigate climate change and the loss of biodiversity.
We are currently working with a range of community and youth groups, schools, colleges, and families, to improve the spaces that matter to them to benefit wildlife and people. All of the work we do is guided by the wants and needs of the young people we work with on the project.
Who’s involved?
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council
This project supports the Council’s Climate Change and Biodiversity Strategies. While a non-funded partner, the Council's Climate Change and Sustainability Team plays a key role in supporting delivery.
Working together, we are developing three community ‘green spaces’ across the borough, shaped by ideas from the Youth Forum to benefit both people and wildlife.
The Junction Foundation
The Junction Foundation is a well-established Tees Valley charity supporting children, young people and families. It provides a range of services, including support for young carers, mental health support, and help with education and employment skills.
Tees Valley Wildlife Trust
As the Wildlife Trust, we bring environmental expertise to help maximise benefits for wildlife and local people.
We support the project by delivering events such as BioBlitzes, nature walks and beach activities, as well as working with schools, colleges and volunteer groups like Youth Rangers.
We are also helping to enhance three green spaces across the borough, introducing features such as wildlife ponds, hedgerows, drystone walls, sensory areas and accessible paths, ensuring these spaces can be enjoyed by everyone.
How to get involved
All Our Futures works with young people aged 11–18, and up to 24 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). There are several ways to get involved:
Youth Forum
The Youth Forum meets every two weeks and plays an important role in shaping the project. Members contribute ideas, take part in activities and help design improvements to local green spaces, presenting their ideas directly to council representatives.

Youth Rangers
Youth Rangers meet twice a month to take part in practical conservation work across wildlife reserves, woodlands and green spaces.
Activities include tree planting, wildlife surveys and building site features such as benches. It’s a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and spend time outdoors.
