Wilder schools
Practical support to help your school take action for nature
We offer tailored support to help schools across the Tees Valley develop and deliver a range of environmental activities. This can include wildlife gardening, making the most of your school grounds, growing food, and progressing through eco-schools initiatives.
Our support is flexible and practical, helping you build confidence, develop ideas and take meaningful action.
How we can help
We can support your school to:
- Work towards recognised programmes such as the National Education Nature Park, Eco-Schools Award, RHS Campaign for School Gardening and the Learning Outside the Classroom Mark
- Develop your school grounds to better support wildlife and outdoor learning
- Improve sustainability practices, including resource management and cost-saving measures
- Embed outdoor learning across the curriculum, including Forest School approaches
- Support pupil wellbeing through connection to nature
Our approach also aligns with Ofsted priorities, supporting pupil achievement, quality of teaching, behaviour and leadership.
Getting started
We offer an initial meeting (up to one hour) free of charge to explore your school’s goals and how we can best support you.
This includes:
- tailored advice and ideas
- signposting to relevant programmes and training
- guidance on funding opportunities for environmental projects
