Cliffs at Hummersea

Starting at the Market Square we will take a circular walk exploring memories of childhood adventure and exploration around Loftus and the coast through oral history recordings. Discover the thrill of opening the beaches after the war, the best site for great crested newts, making quarry camps and the joy of earning a leaker! Changes to the local scenery will be explored through archive photos and maps. Participants will be tasked with recording wildlife seen and sharing their own memories of childhood adventures.
Please dress warmly and appropriately for being outdoors in the winter and wear appropriate footwear. Footpaths may be wet and muddy and certain sections are quite steep. Walking sticks are recommended. Bring a hot drink and a snack and don’t forget your camera.
