1st March 2018, 10:00am – 1:00pm
Starting at the car park we will take a circular walk around the Skinningrove Valley exploring memories of childhood adventure and exploration. Discover why the “Grovers” were the most feared gang in the Loftus area, childhood life in an active mining community, cliff adventures and how to avoid the local bobby. Changes to the local scenery will be explored through archive photos and maps. Participants will be tasked with recording the wildlife seen and sharing their own memories of childhood adventures.
Please dress warmly and appropriately for being outdoors in the winter and wear appropriate footwear. Footpaths may be wet and muddy and certain sections are quite steep. Walking sticks are recommended. Bring a hot drink and a snack and don’t forget your camera.
